Check-ins will have be made no later than 6pm on Monday night so that all stations using Winlink will have the time to receive an acknowledgement back from myself and to get them tabulated and passed on to whoever is the Net Control Station for that night.  Any announcements made on the regular Monday night net will go back out to those stations checking in by Winlink following the regular net.

What follows is the bookkeeping part:

My thought for now is to put Winlink check-ins on the roster myself so that whoever is the NCS wouldn’t have to wait for me to get them together and pass them on following the net.  I want to make this as seamless and as unobtrusive to the NCS as possible, so if this works, whoever is the NCS on any given Monday night will find them placed in the roster prior to the net opening up.  If I understand the way that the roster works, the NCS will have to wait until 6:30-6:45 before they open their roster, so that it’s in the dropbox for me to place the call signs of Winlink stations in their proper place. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll pass it on by email to whoever is the NCS as soon as I have them tabulated, which will be before they’re through calling the net, so the extra work will hopefully not be too intrusive.  What they would have to do in that case is go into their regular email, and copy and paste the call signs from Winlink in their proper place on the early check-ins page.

I’ll also be recording and transcribing any announcements made on the phone net and then send them out using Winlink to all stations that checked in that way so that if they missed them on the regular net, they would still have them.  That might take me a few minutes to get done but I should have them out by Winlink by 8pm.  Hopefully that’ll work out as well.
